A Day in the Life of Care (3 Day)

Course Description

This 3 day course covers all mandatory areas. The course content and structure is under pinned not only from a mandatory compliance point of view but encompasses the Care Certificate meeting 80% of the criteria. The course is designed to replicate the everyday life of a service user and allowing the demonstration of not just how something should be done but why it should be done. Whilst following a care plan and demonstrating the importance of person centred care, communication and safeguarding. Culminating in a mock coroners court which really underpins the “THE WHY” something is done and allows the opportunity for reflective practice.

Course Outline

The programme will be bespoke to the service, using your policy and procedures, and following one of your care plans, below is an overview of what will be covered:

  • Communication
  • Duty of Candour
  • Infection Control
  • Handling information and Data Protection
  • Health and Safety (including First Aid, CPR and Manual Handling)
  • Food Safety
  • Dysphagia
  • Tissue Viability
  • Catheter Care

Course Duration

18hrs / 3 days


The trainer will carry out an on-going assessment.


All delegates will receive a certificate of attendance.


The course can be delivered at locations to suit the client or at one of our training venues.
