This course provides the essential knowledge and information for all health and social care staff who work with and support individuals with Parkinson’s disease. Looking at the effects of the condition, care and support needs and the progression of the condition.

Course Outline

  • Understand what Parkinson’s disease is
  • Look at the effects of Parkinson’s on the brain and the symptoms the person may face
  • Look at the treatments for people with Parkinson’s
  • Look at care planning and person centred support to manage the symptoms of Parkinson’s
  • Look at current policy and quality standards

The trainer will carry out an on-going assessment.

Certification

All delegates will receive a certificate of attendance.
