Equality and Diversity Health and Social Care Level Training is all about educating workers in regards to how people should be treated. The simple answer is that everyone should be treated equally and given equal opportunities whilst their disadvantages should also be taken into consideration. There should be no forms of discrimination in or outside the workplace. Equality and Diversity Health and Social Care Level Training is put in place to eradicate discrimination.
The act of discrimination is in regards to a negative attitude towards somebody based on their difference. Actions such as labelling, stereotyping and prejudice can all lead to discrimination.
Examples of taking someone’s disadvantage into consideration can include ensuring that there are ramps outside buildings for anybody who is in a wheelchair. Another example, would be giving information to staff in different forms such as Braille if you had a member of staff who was blind.
