Course Description

Every employee has a duty of responsibility to protect data and adhere to the legal requirements of the Data Protection Act (1998) and related legislation for the holding, processing, storing and security of patient identifiable information.

All staff have a duty of confidentiality to service users and colleagues in their daily work. This course aims to improve staff awareness of issues that relate to confidentiality to protect all personal identifiable information and to ensure that all staff understand the legal aspects of confidentiality, data protection and information security and their professional responsibilities.

Course Outline

  • Understand staff responsibilities to ensure security of personal identifiable information
  • How to apply Caldicott principles and the requirement of the Data Protection Act
  • Avoid confidentiality breaches

The trainer will carry out an on-going assessment.

Certification

All delegates will receive a certificate of attendance.

The course can be delivered at locations to suit the client or at one of our training venues.
