Communication Introduction

Course Description

This course provides an essential insight for all care and support staff who work with individuals with communication difficulties. To include those who use augmentative and alternate communication (AAC) systems, looking at the different aspects of communication and beginning to explore the systems to support effective communication.

Course Outline

  • The importance of communication in relation to self-identification and self-expression
  • Look at the different parts of communication
  • Explore the range of communication difficulties, including specific communication related conditions
  • Explore some of the different communications systems that can support communication including assistive technology

Assessment

The trainer will carry out an on-going assessment.

Certification

All delegates will receive a certificate of attendance.

Location

The course can be delivered at locations to suit the client or at one of our training venues.
